Jungle vibes along the coast, music, and natives. Surrounded by lots of plants, my 2 faithful dogs Charlie & Parker, and my tribe of support – I handcraft macrame (when I’m not chasing around my son, Taylor.)
My core values are to support small business, take care of our planet, and give back. All the little things count! I source recycled fibers, strive to use eco-friendly materials, recycle whenever possible, and forage for wood to upcycle into my work.
It’s all in the name
When I decided to jump all in & do this, I really wanted to come up with a name that reflected my inspiration, my family. After playing a little scrabble with “J” for Joe/James/Jack, “E” for Evon/Emma, and “T” for Taylor… I stumbled upon “Jete” – a french word meaning “to throw”, a movement used in ballet or an arrangement of folds according to a neglected elegant.
I also wanted to pay homage to my roots. My mother is from Guam and has always had a boho flair. Colors, bright colors, everywhere and on everything. Rattan, wicker, and caning on the furniture I grew up with. And plants – jungle like, beautiful greenery everywhere.
